German Mining Network

Due to the cooperation of the ministry-supported Competence Centres for Mining and Mineral Resources at the AHKs in selected countries with the German Mineral Resources Agency (DERA) and Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI), a network for resources, namely German Mining Network, has been established.

This network serves as a consultation and support tool for the German economy. A regular newsletter informs about the activities of the network. In addition to that, five resource studies are available, that have been compiled by the relevant AHKs in cooperation with DERA and GTAI. The studies outline the opportunities for German companies in the resource sector. The study of the AHK Southern Africa can also been found on the publications subpage.

The German Mineral Resources Agency (DERA) is the national information and consultancy platform for mineral raw materials. DERA was established in 2010 by decree of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and is part of the German Geological Survey (Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources, BGR). Hence, DERA builds on many years of expertise and a wide scientific and technical infrastructure. Their mission is to contribute to a secure, affordable and sustainable mineral raw material supply for Germany.
