René Zarske, Project Manager, heads the Competence Center Mineral Resources within the Southern African-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Mr. Zarske is experienced in the international markets and has been working for one of the largest banks in Germany in the world’s main financial centres Frankfurt am Main, Hong Kong, Melbourne and Shanghai. He obtained his Master of Business at the Bond University in Australia. As a German citizen, Mr. Zarske recently worked as a consultant in the finance industry in Cologne. He has overseen various projects in the field of Business Development. Mr. Zarske is fluent in German and English.
Gerard Mohapi, Project Manager Mineral Resources Competence Centre/General Services. Mr Mohapi holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mining) from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. After completing his studies he joined Goldfields in Westonaria and Completed the Graduate Development Program. During the program Gerard obtained a National Rock Breakers Certificate (Mining Qualification Authority), Safe Production Supervisors Certificate (Sibanye Gold Academy) and a Surface Mine Overseers Certificate (Xstract Training Services). Upon Completing the project he worked as a Miner in Ultra Deep Level Gold Mining and was eventually appointed as Production Supervisor. He eventually left the mines an gained experience as an Entrepreneur before joining the German Chamber.
